Method - Step-by-Step Guide on How to make Quick Grape Wine:

Preparation:

  • Clean the Grapes: Wash the grapes thoroughly under running water. Then soak them in warm water with a pinch of salt for extra cleanliness. Dry them completely.
  • Remove the Stems: Pluck the grapes off the stems and set them aside.

Pro Tip: Ensure the grapes are completely dry to avoid spoilage during fermentation.

Sugar Mixture:

  • Dissolve Sugar: Heat the water and sugar together until the sugar dissolves. Do not boil. Let the mixture cool completely.

Assembling the Wine Mix:

  • Mash the Grapes: Slightly crush the grapes and place them in a clean and dry porcelain or glass jar.
  • Add Ingredients: Add the wheat, yeast, and cinnamon to the jar. Pour in the cooled sugar-water mixture.
  • Egg White: Beat the egg white lightly and add it to the mix. This helps clarify the wine.
  • Mix Thoroughly: Stir the mixture well to combine all ingredients evenly.

Pro Tip: A long wooden ladle works best for stirring the mix without introducing contamination.

Fermentation:

  • Seal and Store: Cover the jar tightly and store it in a dark, dry place without moisture.
  • No Daily Mixing: Unlike traditional methods, this quick recipe does not require daily stirring. Leave the jar undisturbed for 21 days.

Straining and Final Steps

  • First Straining: After 21 days, open the jar and mix the contents with a long wooden ladle. Strain the mixture through a colander, pressing the grapes to extract all the juice.
  • Caramelised Sugar (Optional): For enhanced colour, caramelise 2 tablespoons of sugar with 1 teaspoon of water until golden brown. Add 2 tablespoons of warm water to the caramel, boil briefly, and mix it into the strained wine.
  • Second Straining: Strain the wine again through a fine muslin cloth for a smoother texture.
  • Final Storage: Pour the strained wine into clean and dry bottles or jars. Let it sit for another 7 days to mature (if time permits).

Pro Tip: Patience pays off—the wine tastes better with a little more ageing!

Tips and Notes:

  • Egg White: Clarifies the wine and reduces tannins, resulting in a smoother, clearer brew.
  • Cleanliness: Ensure all jars and tools are clean and dry to avoid contamination.
  • Patience is Key: While this wine is ready in 30 days, it tastes better with a little more ageing.
  • Adjust Sweetness: Modify the sugar quantity based on the natural sweetness of your grapes.

Pro Tip: For a unique twist, add a small piece of star anise or cloves to the fermentation mix.
